Founded in
1893, the Montreal Council of Women / Le Conseil des femmes de
Montréal (MCW/CFM) is a non-partisan coalition of
70 organizations and over 80 individuals from Montreal and its
surrounding area. MCW's combined membership of over 30,000
women work together to improve social conditions, especially as
they affect the quality of life for
women, their families and society. Through study, discussion and
action, MCW members
inform themselves and those in their communities with a view to
achieve these goals. Organizations and individual women
with similar objectives are invited to join us. Meetings are
held on the first Thursday of the month, except for September
